The retainer is the final stage of orthodontic treatment, designed to fix the results and maintain a beautiful smile. The retainer is worn after the removal of braces and other orthodontic procedures to prevent teeth from returning to their previous positions.
The retainer helps keep teeth in the new position to which they were aligned with braces. Without it, the teeth may begin returning to their original positions, a process known as relapse.
