Prosthetics on implants
Dental prosthetics on implants will help to restore a lost tooth or a whole dentition without unnecessary trauma and pain for the patient. This design is created using high-quality durable and safe material – titanium. The implant completely replaces the lost roots of the teeth and does not cause any discomfort. The estimated lifespan of the implants can reach 20 years or more.
Dentures on implants have a special prosthetic fixation system (braces, locators for implants, magnets), due to which the reliability on implants is really high. Prosthetics consists in the fact that artificial teeth (crowns or removable dentures) are fixed on titanium dental posts implanted into the bone tissue.
Advantages of a prosthesis placed on an implant
- increased comfort when chewing, since the denture does not come off
- the patient can enjoy the taste of food (the prosthesis does not cover the arch)
- affordable price
- simple care, it is no different from oral hygiene with other totally functional teeth.
- the lifespan of the implants can reach 20 years or more; with proper care, they can be worn for whole lifetime
- absolutely painless procedure
- How is the placement procedure for prosthetics on implants?
According to how the appliance is being placed, prosthetics on implants are divided into:
One-step procedure. The placement of the dental post and crown is carried out in one day. This type of appliance can last 20-25 years. However, the placement procedure of such an implant is carried out only when it is fixed in place of the extracted tooth, otherwise there is a possibility of material rejection.
Two-step procedure. Prosthetics takes a longer period of time – up to six months. Initially, an implant is screwed into the bone, after 3-5 months from this moment a dental crown is installed.
