Dental plates
Dental plates are removable orthodontic appliances that allow bite alignment and dentition straightening to be carried out during childhood. They are made of soft plastic and wire. For each patient, their own version of the dental plate is made on the teeth, the design is created exactly according to the shape of the child’s palate.
Children’s age is considered one of the most appropriate for correcting the position of unevenly growing teeth and correcting malocclusion. Advantages of using dental plates
Nowadays, plates for dental straightening and alignment have reached some recognition between patients. The main advantages of this method are the following ones:
- Comfort. Dental plates are easily removable and do not cause discomfort to the child during meals and oral care.
- Quick preparation. Dental plates are made in 1 to 2 weeks
- Affordable price. The price of dental plates is on average two times lower than that of the cheapest appliances.
- Possibility of using them at an early age. With the help of this system, it is possible to correct a series of not very serious malocclusion defects even in the youngest patients (from the age of three).
The use of dental plates is possible not only in children, but also in adult patients as an additional method of bite correction. For example, this is sometimes necessary before placing invisible dental braces or aligners.
