Diagnostics in dentistry is a stage that ensures the correct diagnosis and selection of the appropriate treatment strategy. It is an indispensable stage before the beginning of therapy. Modern methods allow for a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s dentoalveolar system, diagnosing all dental and gum diseases regardless of their development stage.

Without diagnostics, none of the dental services can be performed. A comprehensive approach to any dental problem requires modern technologies and professional doctors. The main criteria for quality diagnostics are the accuracy and truthfulness of the results, speed, and first of all, safety.
One of the most common methods of diagnosing teeth and jaws is X-ray examination.
Dental X-rays are an essential part of diagnosing diseases of the dentoalveolar system in dental clinics. They allow for identifying potential problems at the initial stages, ensuring accurate diagnostics. During treatment, multiple X-rays might be necessary.
Types of X-ray Diagnostics in ID DENT Clinic
Our clinic is committed to patients’ comfort; hence we offer a broad range of diagnostic services:
- Computed tomography of two jaws
- Computed tomography of one jaw (upper or lower)
- Computed tomography of a segment (selected area of teeth)
- Panoramic X-ray of teeth (OPTG)
- Targeted X-ray image
Our modern equipment ensures high-quality images are obtained in the shortest possible time without leaving the clinic.
Computed Tomography of Teeth
The 3D X-ray of jaws allows the doctor to see all the characteristics of the teeth in three-dimensional size, determine the number of dental canals, assess bone tissue density, presence of inflammations, granulomas, and cysts. This diagnostic method is used before planning implantations, sinus lifting, wisdom tooth extraction, and other operations.
Dental Orthopantomogram
A panoramic X-ray is a 2D image of teeth, which allows you to see the condition of the entire tooth row of the upper and lower jaw. It is often used before planning orthodontic treatment to see the beginnings of milk teeth in children, as well as the position of wisdom teeth in adults. The OPTG also clearly shows the presence of cysts and inflammatory processes, allowing the dentist to perform quality and effective treatment.
Targeted X-ray Image
This method of diagnosing teeth is often used for treatment monitoring. It is a quick way to assess the quality of dental canal fillings, crown fit after fixation, correct implant placement, etc.
